Inflatable Nostalgia…

The Inflatables formed in 1980 and were originally known as The Giant Inflatables.

Founded in 1980 at the height of the Two Tone craze that was sweeping the land, the fledgling Inflatables were inspired to pick up Guitar, Bass, Drums and Sax in an attempt to emulate their heroes:

The Specials, Madness, The Selecter, Bad Manners, The Beat, UB40 and Dexys
along with the originators of the genre such as Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker, The Skatalites etc...

Unfortunately by the time they became proficient enough on their instruments to get gigs. everybody on TOTP was wearing frilly shirts and playing Synths. Undeterred, The Inflatables ploughed their furrow and kept the SKA flame alive, whilst picking up a sizeable local following and gigging all over the south of England.

As with any band that has been on the scene some 38 years band members have come and gone but the current line up of original members Howard, Richard, David and Martin joined by Tony on vocals, have covered over a third of the bands lifetime.

The Inflatables provide a huge slice of nostalgia, but they are of the belief that SKA is the best dance music in the world .

So The Inflatables cordially invite you to

PUT YOUR BRACES TOGETHER AND YOUR BOOTS ON YOUR FEET....AND GET DANCING !
